Too sweet not to share (and a new post below)...

How sweet is this?? She's growing up to quickly!

A Weekend of Firsts!

Addison had a very big day last Saturday! Not only did she get her ears pierced but she got her very first Barbie doll!
Addison and I headed to the mall on Saturday while Dad took some of his clients to the Braves game. We were almost ready to leave when Addison spotted a little girl getting her ears done at Claires's so we stopped and went in to watch. The girl was probably close to 7 or 8 so she didn't shed a tear (which I have to say helped greatly!). After the girl got done, Addison climbed right up into the chair and said, "Addie wants earrings!" I was so surprised and the girls who did the piercings kept saying how her excitement made their job SO much easier! I could tell by looking at Addie that we weren't getting out of that place without a pair of earrings in her ears! She did really well when they did them and when they showed her them in the mirror she said, "Looks pretty Mommy!" She is so proud of them!
After we left the mall, we headed over to Maw-Maw's (Duke's Mom's) house to show off our new bling. Duke's Mom has a HUGE collection of Barbie dolls and she let Addison take one home with her. Addison has carried this Barbie around with her everywhere the past few days....she is a well traveled doll and Addison loves her! I'm just praying we don't lose the TINY shoes she came with anytime soon. I can only imagaine the tears that would cause.

Since I didn't have my camera with me at the mall...this is her "I just got my ears pierced picture!"
Isn't this the CUTEST bag?
So proud!
I'm telling you...she LOVES the Barbie doll! Thanks Maw-Maw!

Gardening With NaNa

Thank goodness for my Mom because we all know I would never be able to teach Addison this stuff! My Mom has spent the summer teaching Addison how to plant flowers and garden and she LOVES it! We have been lucky and already gotten to enjoy a lot of the yummy vegetables that they planted. Every night when Addison eats dinner, she will tell you that the vegetables came out of "her garden" and she looks so proud! Mom and her even planted one in our yard as a Father's Day gift to Duke. Thanks Mom for everything you do for us!

Proof she's still my child..not excited about getting dirty!

Now maybe Addison can teach me a little of what NaNa has taught her! There might be hope for me yet!

Better Late than Never - Happy Father's Day!!

Four posts in and I've already done what I knew I would do! I know I'm late with this post but I still wanted to wish the two amazing men in my life a VERY Happy Father's Day! Addison and I are so blessed to have both of them in ours lives, to rush in and rescue us at any moment, in true Prince Charming style.

Duke, thank for being such an amazing Daddy to Addison. I love to watch the two of you play together and see her eyes light up when you walk into the room. Thank you for loving me the way that you do and showing her what true love looks like. I couldn't ask for anything more from you. I love you!

Dad, thank you for all of the sacrifices you made for us growing up and for all of the sacrifices you continue to make for my family. Thank you for always loving me even when I made mistakes. Thank you for loving Mom the way that you do and showing me what to look for in a husband. And thank you for ALWAYS being there for me no matter what time of day or night. You are an amazing Dad and an even better Pop-Pop! I love you!

We are all so lucky to have these two men in our lives!

Saying Goodbye

Some dear friends of ours, Nick, Laura, and Mason moved to Charleston a few weeks ago. We are so excited for them and this new adventure but will miss them dearly. While the boys helped load the U-Haul, we took a few pics of the kids and mommys!

So What Are We Up to These Days???

The answer....EVERYTHING! We've had quite the busy summer and it's just started. Looking back at photos from last summer it's hard to believe how much Addison has grown. She is getting so big - so quickly! She just finished swimming lessons and LOVED it! She is quite the little fish with NO fear of the water. I can't decide if this is a good thing or not.

Mom and I have been waiting patiently for Addison to be old enough for us to take her to pick strawberries and this year she was! I'm not sure how many she actually PICKED but I know she ATE a ton of them. It was so cute and just as much fun as Mom and I knew it would be!

After trying for several weekends, we finally made it to the zoo for Mother's Day. Mom and Dad were able to go down with us and we all had a great time. Addison was amazed by the monkey's and the elephants. However, she was not excited by the way the goats and pigs smelled and held her nose the entire time she was in the petting zoo. She is my child!

We also took a trip down to the GA Aquarium a few weekends ago and had a great time. Addison couldn't get over how big the sharks were and wanted to jump in the pool with the stingrays. After the aquarium, we walked over and let her play at Centennial Olympic Park which was the first time Duke or I had been there. Isn't that awful???

Kind of sounds like we've been tourists in our own town, doesn't it? :)

We've Joined the Blogging World (I think!)

After thinking and thinking about starting a blog....I've done it! Let's just hope I can keep it up! Please bear with me as I attempt to figure all of this out....but it should be fun to read in the process.
